The 13th International Competition “PRO
PIANO-ROMANIA” June 16 – 21, 2009
Terms of Entry
I. This competition is opened
for young pianists and all students of any nationality, born
after January 1 st 1979. The competitors
will be separated in the following sections:
Section
A 1 round
- born during the year:
1st cat. - 2002 (and after) - max. 8'
2nd cat. - 2001
3rd cat. – 2000
4th cat. – 1999
PROGRAMME of section A (one round):
a) one etude
b)
one preclassic/baroc work
c) one classic, romantic, modern or Romanian work - one of those at your choice
Section B 2 rounds - 8 categories
, born during the year:
1st cat. - 1998-------------- max: 10’ (for the
2 nd round)
2nd cat - 1997
3rd cat. - 1996
4th cat. – 1995
5th cat. - 1994--------------- max: 15’ (for
the 2 nd round)
6th cat. - 1993
7th cat. - 1992-------------- max: 20’ (for the
2 nd round)
8th cat - 1991 and 1990
PROGRAMME of section B(2 rounds):
First round (eliminatory):
a) one etude
b) one preclassic work
Second round:
a) one classic work: one part of a Sonata, or others forms (Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven);
b) one romantic, modern, or Romanian work - one of those at your choice

Section C -
3 rounds
born after the 1st January 1979
PROGRAMME of section C - 3 rounds):
First round (eliminatory):
a) one etude by Chopin
b) one etude by Liszt ( Excluded op. 1 )
c) J. S. Bach – One Prelude and Fugue
Second round – semi-final (eliminatory)–max. 30’:
a) one sonata of the classic period (Haydn, Mozart or Beethoven )
b) one composition chosen by the competitor: modern or Romanian
Third round – final (max. 45’)
one or more compositions chosen by competitor, different from the ones played in the first 2 rounds
Sectiunea D - 4 hands on one
instrument
1 round - born between:
1st cat - 2001 – 1998 (max. 5’)
2nd cat – 1997 - 1994 (max. 8’)
3rd cat - 1993 - 1989 (max. 12’)
PROGRAMME of section D (one round):
Programme chosen by the competitors, within the time limits.

II. The program mentioned in the Application form cannot be changed afterwards. Participants are free to choose the order of the works to be performed. If, in the 2nd or 3rdround the performance of an applicant exceeds the time limit, the jury may stop it. Each of the rounds is public.
The order of appearance is alphabetical, in the bounds of each age category.
* It's possible to take part in 2 sections, but with diferent programs.
III. The candidates have
to send till the 15th of May 2009 (mail date) to the address:
“Pro Piano-Romania” Foundation, for Prof.

H3, Sc.1, Ap. 11, Sector 3, Oficiul Postal 57, Cod 032719,
Bukarest - Romania, the following:
* copy of birth certificate
* the application form with the definitive program
* one passport photo (4cm / 5cm)
* accommodation request( if you want hotel/hostel)
The following participation fee, payable directly to the organizers before attending the contest :
70 EURO for cat. A ;
80 EURO for cat. B ;
90 EURO for cat. C
40 EURO / person for cat. D
Every candidate will receive the confirmation and participating official invitation 15 days after the registration deadline. In case of non-participation, the fee and the application documents will not be returned.
Transportation and accommodation fees will be fully covered
by the participants. We can provide hotel reservation (further
information is available by request).
IV. Awards:

Prizes for the best interpretation of a romanian composition The best performances will perform before the public.
The prizes will be handed over only to the winners themselves, during a public ceremony. Participants in category A, which won awards and those who have promoted the next stage (categories B and C) will receive certificate of participation or the semifinalist or finalist, only on request.
The ones not admitted to the 2nd or 3rd round, will receive Finalist Diplomas (at their following).
All competitors will have the possibility to practice on a piano.For any kind of broadcasting or recording the applicants cannot require any extra payment
V. The Jury will consist of well-known Romanian and foreign personalities in the field of classical music.
The Jury's decisions are final and cannot be challenged.
By signing the application form for the competition, each candidate accepts the present regulation and fully recognizes the Jury's authority.
